A family business
Whilst spending time in Scandinavia, The Ceramic Stove Company founder Nick Hills noticed that the homes he visited were filled with beautiful, tiled stoves that created a warm welcome from the long winters.
“I first came upon Ceramic stoves thirty years ago, in a previous incarnation that required me to spend my winters in central Norway. I was attracted, initially, by their aesthetics ….. on returning to the UK, I found an article in World of Interiors magazine that heaped praise upon their beauty and elegance but provided few clues as to their source. It was only when I dug deeper that I discovered that their beauty is far more than skin deep.”
Further research by Nick revealed that Ceramic Stoves were not just beautiful and functional but were also incredibly efficient with excellent environmental credentials.

Established in 1991In 1991, The Ceramic Stove Company built its first stove in the UK. Since then, Nick and the team have built stoves in many locations, including the first Eco House in Oxford, National Trust properties, a renovated dairy in the US and various homes, businesses and Eco projects across the UK, USA and Europe.

We are the U.K. dealer for Gabriel Kakelugnar of Sweden. Their artisan production of tiled stoves and handmade tiles takes place in Timmernabben, on the coast of Småland. Gabriel originate from the business founded by Gabriel Burmeister almost 100 years ago. |
How we work

We are a family business. All our stoves are made to order and are hand-built on site, in accordance with current Building Regulations. We work closely with you to understand exactly what you want from your ceramic stove and how it will suit your family, lifestyle or business. We will guide you through the process of planning, ordering and building.
We are used to working with architects and builders on renovation or large-scale construction projects, as well as smaller projects. Our stoves are suitable for most people looking for a beautiful, efficient, and environmentally sensitive way to heat their living and working spaces. |
